Research group
Melissa is a PhD candidate at Curtin University. Her research focuses on blood-based biomarkers and diffusion MRI metrics of white matter damage after mild traumatic brain injury and recovery. Prior to commencing her PhD, Melissa worked as a preclinical Research Assistant for Prof. Lindy Fitzgerald, investigating cellular damage following mild traumatic brain injury and as a Clinical Research Assistant for Prof. Fiona Wood investigating quality of life in paediatric burns patients. She is passionate about translational research and the development of novel ideas that streamline the scientific process and, most importantly, improve patient outcomes.
