Dr Robert Edis is an experienced consultant public hospital and private neurologist with a subspecialty interest and expertise in motor neurone disease (1978-2024). He has been a long-time member of the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Western Australia as a neurologist advisor. Having led Multidisciplinary Team MND clinics from 1994 until 2021, Dr Edis has an intimate understanding of the difficulties in controlling distressing symptoms during a patient’ s MND end-of-life journey often despite having access to good specialist palliative care. Dr Edis was a WA VAD Board member from 2021-25. Dr Edis has worked with the group on projects such as Breaking bad news- the MND diagnosis, the MND Bereavement support study, and developing and delivering an MND educational program for health professionals.
