Caerwen Beaton is a PhD candidate at Curtin University in the Fitzgerald Laboratory. Her area of research is mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), also known as concussion. The main aim of Caerwen’s PhD research is to investigate the relationship between concussive symptoms and dysfunctional brain networks using EEG and MRI technology. Furthermore, she will look at using neurofeedback therapy to normalise brain network dysfunction and alleviate symptoms associated with concussion. This research could demonstrate the importance of personalised rehabilitation strategies post-mTBI.
