Allan Kermode talks at LINIM in China

Professor Allan Kermode, head of Demyelinating Diseases Research at the Perron Institute was recently invited to give a plenary lecture at the 7th LingNan-International Neurology and Neuroimmunology Meeting (LINIM) in Guangzhou, China.

His presentation was titled: “Multiple Sclerosis Update – East and West”. In his talk, Professor Kermode described the recent dramatic advances in both knowledge and therapy for multiple sclerosis and related disorders, and contrasted the profound differences in multiple sclerosis prevalence and phenotypes between Western countries and those in Asia and other regions.

LINIM is an international meeting for neuroscientists and is jointly organised by the Chinese Neuro-immunology Society and the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. For the past six years the event has attracted more than 5,000 participants.

Professor Kermode was recently awarded a Visiting Professorship at Sun Yat-sen University. This is the second time he has received this honour.
