Ten News First’s Amelia Simpson highlighted some of the Institute’s motor neurone disease (MND) research showing promise.
On 28 December 2023, she interviewed Dr Oliver Li (Perron Institute and CMMIT, Murdoch University) and Prof Anthony Akkari who are leading a team of researchers to test a new genetic strategy to slow the progression of MND. MND is a complex and incurable condition where nerve cells in the body become damaged. A patient, Steve, was also interviewed about his experience and the promising research.
