Natasha is a PhD student at Perron Institute and UWA. Her research focuses on investigating the role of genetic structural variation in neuropsychiatric disorders, particularly in anorexia nervosa. Her work includes publishing her first journal article as lead author in the International Journal of Eating Disorders, collaborating with Dr Cynthia Bulik (University of North Carolina) and Dr Sarah Medland (Queensland Institute of Medical Research). She is also a member of the Eating Disorders Working Group of the Psychiatric Genetics Consortium (PGC). She hopes to help improve understandings of how genotype leads to phenotype in anorexia nervosa and eventually develop personalized, biologically targeted therapeutics for this devastating disorder.
