The Epilepsy and Pregnancy clinic, the first of its kind in Western Australia and the second of its kind in Australia, is run fortnightly by Dr Gaitatzis at the Perron Institute. The clinic, which commenced late 2017, aims to provide specialist advice to women with epilepsy of childbearing age with focus on pregnancy-related issues.
Provide information about epilepsy issues in women such as polycystic ovaries, contraception, menstruation, and menopause.
Provide advice about starting a family (pre-pregnancy advice)
Provide rapid access to pregnant women about medications, risks to mother and baby, and breastfeeding.
